At times present, there has been a lot of information flow about global warming and Londoners were no exception in the discourses of how this phenomenon has generally affected the already unpredictable climactic conditions of the city. Accordingly, locals’ complaints in the past were on how rain was too frequent yet unforeseen. Now, they find themselves riding out sudden outbreaks of sunshine and dry heat in the recent summers, with record temperatures, approaching 40°C. The autumns have been positively toasty apparently placing residents in a particularly unprepared mode to cope with such heat.
The recent data, nevertheless, is still not a representation of anything terrible out of the ordinary since the London climate is naturally variable. In fact, the month of July still pegs an average maximum temperature of 23°C, while temperatures drop to between 13°C and 17°C in spring and autumn. It also rarely freezes in London regardless of the snow surfacing in the past years. However, it is predicted that long-term effects of global warming and climate change would bring drier summers, wetter and stormier winters and a lot of flash floods for London.

Despite having an erratic weather condition, London serves tourists year-round, with only a few programmes concluding or the opening hours reduced considerably in the winter months. The excellent time to expect the likelihood of a good weather is in the months of July and August, the height of summer, still there should be leeway, expecting also rain since there really is no guarantee of sun in those months. It is at these times that crowds are biggest and prices are the highest.
If however it is decided that London would be seen in April/May and September/October, these are good times to visit since a good weather is better than average chance and there’s a better than average chance of good weather and the popular attractions are hours shorter in queues. Cost of getting to London is cheaper and some decent accommodation might even be found, during these times. The cheapest fares and hotel prices are available however, in the months of November to March, wintertime, where it would be very cold had the daylight hours shorter.
