The London Eye is also known as the Millenium Wheel. It is approximately 135 meters or 443 feet in height. It is said to be the largest ferris wheel in all Europe. This colossal structure has become the most popular paid tourist attractions right at the heart of United Kingdom. It is said to be visited by 3 million tourists from all over the world for each year.
The London Eye is situated right the western end of the Jubilee Gardens on the River Thames. This large ferris wheel is located between the Hungerford Bridge and the Westminster Bridge.
The London Eye has been surpassed by the Star of Nanchang by the year of May 2006. This ferris wheel in London has been the first of its kind but the Singapore Flyer with a total height of 165 meters.
However, this ferris wheel is said to be the world’s tallest cantilevered observation wheel since it has been an A-frame on one side.
