London Luton Airport Information Guide. If in need of a variety of low-cost and charter flights destined to European destinations and beyond, the LondonLutonAirport may answer these requirements.  Thameslink railway to London Kings Cross Station. Luton is the only London airport which does not have its own railway station directly on-site.

However, there are regular free shuttle bus services providing connections to the nearby Luton Airport Parkway station. From here, there are frequent trains to either King’s Cross or St Pancras, with many operating non-stop to central London. Unlike the "big three" BAA airports, there aren’t any specifically branded train services operating to Luton airport, but as with Gatwick, Thameslink do offer extremely useful connections to numerous other places in London and the southeast.

There are also facilities such as currency exchange and magazine / book shops and restuarants.

London Luton Directions

London Luton is 1 hour 15 minutes drive to central London, I have included other distances of the main London airports.

London Luton Transport Methods

There are 2 main types of transport to enter central London that I would recommend, its cheaper than taking a car, or renting a car, with a car you have to pay the congestion charge of 10 pound sterling when you pass through the main circle road for London, thats expensive!

  • Airport Bus: There is a direct bus to central Baker Street, were you can then transfer to the underground,
  • Airport Train: Read a note on the shuttle bus too! The other option is the Train to central London , the train will leave you at Kings Cross station, then you can transfer to the undeground. There is a shuttle bus to the train station, I recommend buying a ticket from central London to the aiprort rather than just London Luton station or you iwll pay a surcharge. The shuttle bus is free if you purchased your ticket in the train station.
  • Taxi from London Luton, this is quite expensive can cost around 80 pound sterling, I would get the train or bus instead i think a return bus or train ticket cost aroiund 10 to 15 pound return, so cheapest by far, taxi may be economical if can fit a few people in taxi or you got the cash.
