Above: Example of London’s cuisine
In the past 10 years, London’s restaurants have increased their prices by 50%. 50% and yet still very reasonable. Perfect ambience mixed with an array of perfect cuisine - to speak of your money’s worth would be to speak of London’s finest dining.
The following places have been hand picked by a chef himself to jumpstart you on your London dining extravaganza.
Club Gascon
This restaurant is all about the perfect presentation. Its specialty is innovative French cooking - served in small quantities. You can pick 6 dishes from a variety in the menu but make sure you pick something with foie gras. One of the delectable tasting dishes would be chips cooked in goose fat and black pudding with lobster. The place may not be as spacious and may be a bit pricey but there’s good ambience, good vibe and hospitable service.
Tom Aikens
This restaurant serves dishes from early French roots, yet it is still very modern. Though a chef critic described some dishes as lacking in texture and may come overstated, Aikens has its unique style that in itself is complimentary. It’s definitely a refreshing experience, having a place that would shake up the fine dining industry and make it more exciting. You can start with the assiette pork or other salads served in fabulous presentation.
Racine
If Aikens is refreshing, Racine is the exact opposite - but the experience is still surprising equivalent. It goes back to the basic French cooking: starting with garlic, parsley, red wine vinegar and so on. One would expect to just have a decent meal but would be surprised to have a fantastic one. At the same time the bill is surprisingly acceptable.
